Bronwyn’s interest in social research began as an undergraduate student, where her studies included topics such as food inequalities, the history of medicine and the politics of human rights. She wrote her dissertation on the empowerment of minority groups, and the importance of their representation in civil society and political processes to creating a fair and just society. As a result, her work in social research is grounded in a passion to understand the challenges facing minority groups, and how these can be overcome.
Through the study of a short course in Research Methodology and Design after graduation, she enhanced her primary research skills, conducting research on the factors leading to Euroscepticism, youth job prospects during economic crises and cyclists’ experiences as road users. The latter being an area of particular interest following involvement during her university holidays in a research project investigating the effectiveness of various proposed measures to improve cyclist safety in London.
Prior to joining M·E·L Research, Bronwyn worked primarily in the technology sector, with clients ranging from multinational technology providers including Dell and McAfee, to small start-ups. As well as technical topics such as data protection and IT systems automation, she also conducted research on ways organisations can support and empower a hybrid workforce, the accessibility of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data, and the growing importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) credentials to technology buyers. She has a strong grounding in using quantitative data to capture and measure public perceptions of various topics, measuring satisfaction and understanding the factors which drive behaviours or lead to successful outcomes.
In her role as Research Manager at M·E·L Research, Bronwyn is responsible for running research projects from start to end. She particularly enjoys constructing narratives from data to create research reports and presentations which are engaging, easy to follow, and relate directly to the client’s research objectives and needs.

Ripple Effect Mapping (REM) focuses on discovering and understanding the impacts or effects of a programme, project or intervention using multiple stakeholders. REM adopts a strengths-based approach and looks at how certain actions or efforts play a role in causing the observed changes. The idea is to identify changes or effects and how an intervention caused them - this approach helps to visually map out the outcomes and impacts of a programme or initiative, particularly the indirect or "ripple" effects that may not be immediately apparent.
