The founding backbone of our organisation, we have been delivering waste and recycling market research since the company formed back in the 1980s. We are expertly placed to provide a complete research design package to understand users’ views, attitudes, claimed usage and behaviours to address service related problems.
We work with government bodies across the country as well as private contractors to help them explore and understand public interactions with services. We utilise a range of mixed methods, such as quantitative and qualitative approaches in our research design. From doorstep survey, onsite surveys at Households Waste Recycling Centres, to in depth interviews and remote qualitative engagement.
We draw on segmentation software to help us identify communities and inform our approach using tools such as Acorn (A Classification of Residential Neighbourhoods) which is firmly linked to environmental behaviours.
Our work has included gathering insight to inform Waste and Recycling Strategies, service transformation plans, user satisfaction and key drivers, testing engagement and behavioural campaigns.
We were the authors of the nationally renowned WRAP ‘Barriers to Recycling’ report; we have an in-depth understanding of motivators and barriers to people’s levels of recycling competence and know how to use this insight to change residents’ behaviours.
