Thames Water – Odour Mitigation Research:
Thames Water entrusted MEL Research with an independent research project to understand customers’ perceptions of odour mitigation work at the Beckton and Long Reach sites. Our objectives included assessing the impact of odour mitigation on customers’ lives and comparing their views to previous survey results. Additionally, we established a baseline for customers’ views on odour strength and frequency around the Deephams site before planned mitigation work.
Electricity North West – Brand Tracker and Complaints Satisfaction Survey:
For Electricity North West, we conduct a Brand Tracker to gauge customer sentiment using predominantly online methods. To ensure inclusivity, we also incorporate face-to-face interviews with Priority Service Register customers. Additionally, we undertake a Complaints Satisfaction Survey using mixed methods, combining online and telephone interviews to understand the experiences of customers who had lodged complaints.
Consumer Council for Water – Customer Journey Assessment:
MEL Research partnered with the Consumer Council for Water to assess the customer journey and satisfaction levels. We conducted tele-depth qualitative interviews with consumers who had filed complaints with their water companies, escalated to CCW, and further escalated to WATRS. Our research aimed to ensure fair assessments of complaints and improve services based on consumer feedback.
Renewi, Veolia, Biffa, Ricardo, Suez, and Amey – Utilities Sector Partnerships:
Our expertise extends to the waste sector and utilities infrastructure, collaborating with key players like Renewi, Veolia, Biffa, Ricardo, Suez, and Amey. We offer tailored research solutions that cater to the unique challenges and opportunities in these sectors.
Energy Saving Trust – Consumer Attitudes Study:
MEL Research conducted a crucial study on consumer attitudes toward home renewable technology advice provided by the Energy Saving Trust. Through telephone interviews, we engaged with individuals who had received advice on solar panels, wind turbines, and geo-thermal sources. Additionally, we conducted in-home interviews to qualitatively explore the impact of these technologies on domestic life.
British Gas Energy Trust – Programme Evaluation:
Commissioned to evaluate 43 projects funded by over £11M, focusing on fuel poverty among vulnerable residents, we used the Outcomes Harvesting approach. This formative and summative evaluation utilized existing data collected across the 43 projects to provide valuable insights.
By employing diverse methodologies and engaging a wide range of audiences, MEL Research ensures that our clients receive comprehensive insights, helping them make informed decisions and drive success in the utilities sector
