Evan Rolfe Joins Our Growing Evaluation Team
M·E·L Research Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Evan Rolfe as our new Evaluation Research Manager. Evan joined us in early 2024, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous role at a victim support organisation dedicated to tackling anti-Muslim hate crimes across the UK. He joins our growing evaluation and learning partnerships team at a time of considerable growth among some high-profile and long-term partnerships.
Evan’s robust background in research spans a diverse array of areas which are highly relevant to our work, including hate crimes, countering violent extremism (CVE), human rights, and social mobility. His work has significantly contributed to actionable decisions and informed policies addressing some of the key social and political challenges of our times. Notably, Evan has worked alongside prominent stakeholders and clients such as the Cabinet Office, Metropolitan Police, and the European Commission.
Skye Curtis, Head of Evaluation, said:
“We are thrilled to have Evan join our team at M·E·L Research. His extensive experience and proven track record in addressing some of the most pressing societal issues through meticulous research and evaluation will be invaluable to our work. Evan’s commitment to excellence and his innovative approach to integrating equality, diversity, and inclusion into research methodologies align perfectly with our mission to deliver insightful, client-focused solutions. We look forward to the fresh perspectives and impact he will bring to our projects.”
With a strong foundation in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, Evan is a seasoned mixed methods researcher. His ability to unearth complex and nuanced stories from data, especially those relating to underrepresented groups, aligns perfectly with M·E·L Research’s commitment to delivering insightful and impactful research solutions.
Evan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from University College London, where he graduated with a 2:1, and a Master’s degree in National Security Studies from King’s College London, achieving Distinction.
On joining M·E·L Research, Evan expressed his enthusiasm:
“I am really excited to be joining the evaluation team at M·E·L Research and to start a new chapter in my career. Coming from a victim support organisation, I am eager to continue engaging with a diverse range of groups and individuals and telling nuanced stories through my research.”
Evan is the most recent in a raft of new additions across the agency, and joins Skye Curtis and Holly Taylor-Dunn as a third senior hire within the growing evaluation team in less than a year.

Progress, persistence and the gaps in suicide prevention knowledge
August 2026
New UK-wide research from M·E·L Research’s SPARK report shows improving mental health indicators alongside continuing exposure to suicide, widespread lifetime suicidal thoughts and significant gaps in practical knowledge.
Suicide prevention depends on understanding not only how many people are affected, but also how confident the public feel about recognising risk, starting difficult conversations and finding appropriate support.
