Creating positive social value is something we take seriously as a business, and strive to achieve through the work we do with clients and more widely. A key part of our social value commitment is to donate 5% of our profits to charity each year. We asked staff to vote for a charity of the year back in 2021 and Mind was one of the names that came up, as we have worked with them for several years on a number of research and evaluation projects. In the end, we chose our local Mind, Birmingham Mind.

Having some time off over Christmas and New Year has given us all a break and chance to reflect on 2023 and look forward to a positive new year in 2024, writes Karen Etheridge, Managing Director. We are grateful to have had a successful 2023 and have continued to grow the business in terms of our team and clients. There have of course been many challenges, and we are all still going through times of high prices and instability. This makes the work we and our clients do even more important in many cases.

Creative Scotland serves as Scotland's foremost organisation for the arts, screen and creative industries. Established with the vision of fostering a society in which the arts, screen and creative industries are highly valued, Creative Scotland has, since 2012/13, been implementing an opinion survey of its applicants. The objective is to continually improve the services offered by the organisation. Following a competitive tender process, we are delighted to announce that M·E·L Research Ltd has been awarded the contract to undertake this survey for the 2023/24 period, with the option for extension to 2024/25.
