M·E·L Research partners with Aston University to welcome new team member

M·E·L Research is pleased to welcome Belle Linford to our team. Belle is an undergraduate student at Aston University who will be undertaking her placement year here at M·E·L Research. Belle studies Sociology and Social Policy, where she has nurtured her interests in social research, particularly analysing welfare states and disabled embodiment.

Belle is involved in disabled liberation groups and is a strong advocate for marginalised groups. As such she is an ideal fit for our research activities which commonly specialise in complex questions and difficult topics, with audiences that are seen by many as too hard to engage, or too easy to ignore.

Over the next nine months Belle will have hands on experience to develop her research skills and will make an active contributioon to meaningful social research.

Commenting on Belle’s appointment, Steve Handley, Quantitative Research Director said:

“Belle’s passion for making a difference shone through when we spoke to her so we are delighted to have her join our team.  Belle is part of the generation whose studies have been severely disrupted by Covid, so we will be making every effort to provide her with a range of in-person workplace experiences.  The M·E·L Research team have lots of exciting plans for the year ahead and having Belle with us will help us to deliver these.”
