Additional HMO Licensing consultation

Bath and North East Somerset Council is consulting on a proposal to introduce an Additional (HMO) licensing scheme in the Bath City area.

The consultation runs from 16th March 2018 until 25th May 2018.

The proposal is to introduce:

An Additional (HMO)Licensing Scheme for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) within the Bath City area.

This covers all wards that fall under Bath City. A mandatory (HMO) licensing scheme already exists which covers HMO properties where 5 or more people, from 2 or more households, living in a property with 3 or more storeys, where they share an amenity, such as a kitchen, living room or bathroom. Additional (HMO) licensing would extend the scheme to licence properties where 3 or more people, from 2 or more households live in a property (of any size), with a shared amenity.
