Simon Maydew joins M·E·L Research

2020 promises to be an exciting year for us, especially as we can now announce the appointment of Simon Maydew as our new Commercial Director.

Simon joins us from BMG Research’s senior management team, where he led a team focused on developing solutions across a variety of sectors including local government, health and wellbeing, housing, customer experience and employee engagement/employee experience. Simon has also held a variety of Board Director posts both at BMG and Wolverhampton Homes.

“Needless to say, Simon’s 20 years of industry experience is not only going to bolster our offering, but he will undoubtedly bring new insights that our entire team can learn from” says Managing Director Karen Etheridge.

Commenting on his appointment, Simon said; "I am delighted to be joining M·E·L Research as Commercial Director. M·E·L has a clear vision and strategy of where it wants to be and a mission to make a positive impact and difference to clients and wider society in general. I am looking forward to working across the business and enhancing our commercial offer and range of solutions to clients that include organisations such as British Red Cross, Mind and Macmillian for example.”

Simon joins us just as we are settling into our new location in the heart of Birmingham City Centre. The move heralds a big moment for us, as we had been based at Aston Science Park since being a new start up out of Aston University in the 1980s!

Simon’s appointment is sure to build on our already rich heritage, bringing with him a wealth of experience and insight. Already providing a deep understanding of our core specialisms, he says; “As a boutique social research and behavioural insights agency our passion is to provide significant added value solutions that are bespoke, tailored and personalised to the needs of our customers. We see technology as an enabler to achieve this goal, but ultimately it’s about the 'heart' and people that are intrinsic to our service".
