LARIA Annual Conference 2019

The LARIA (Local Area Research & Intelligence Association) annual conference is taking place at Aston University on the 14th and 15th May and our very own Research Director Adam Knight-Markiegi will be there with Angela Aitken of Walsall Council to run a workshop.

The conference is designed to bring local researchers, analysts and intelligence officers together to discuss their fields and celebrate their successes. A chance for delegates to share ideas, tools and intelligence, we are delighted to be asked to share our experience with like-minded professionals.

Adam and Angela will be running a workshop on ‘Social Return on Investment (SROI) evaluation: The importance of collaboration for Social Prescribing in Walsall’, focussing on the Making Connections Walsall programme. This programme is tackling loneliness and isolation through social prescribing and could not have happened without the collaborative efforts of a range of organisations in Walsall.

The workshop will highlight how important partnerships and working together are in delivering this programme and how the evidence, research and evaluation of the project has helped other collaborative efforts in health and social care. Not only that, but by discussing and exploring how collaboration is a fundamental part of any project, Adam and Angela will show how people in Walsall are benefiting from working together.

If you are attending the conference this week, then don’t miss the workshop, where Adam and Angela will be encouraging active participation including a Q&A session. We look forward to seeing you there!
