Homes4Health evaluation with Groundwork London

Homes4Health is a new regional initiative which provides vulnerable individuals with free home energy visits and other services in order to increase health & wellbeing. The scheme has been launched in London, and for the first time brings together local authorities, a housing association, charities and a range of partners; including 60 health organisations, social services, and community groups.

 

To support Groundwork London in measuring the scheme’s success, M·E·L Research has been commissioned to carry out an evaluation. The evaluation includes a formative (looks to assess delivery and improve design) and summative (looks at the effectiveness of the programme) approach.

Groundwork London wants to add to the evidence base in reducing fuel poverty and improving the health of fuel poor households. The evidence will be used to help local authorities integrate the programme into local core service provision.

Our evaluation is being carried out over a three year period, using a mixture of qualitative and quantitative methods. We are currently in the early stages of our evaluation and will be sharing further updates on our progress as the evaluation develops.
