COVID-19 Statement: Helping you with your research insight needs during COVID-19

M·E·L Research are passionate about supporting our customers through both good and challenging times.

Whether there is certainty or ambiguity, our flexibility enables us to adapt to the circumstances we all face, both as a business and as a nation. We wear our ‘heart on our sleeves’ and not only care about our employees and customers, but also about the communities in which we all live. Our aim as a business is to make a positive contribution to society, as well as to add value to our customers. It is these attributes that form the bedrock and cornerstone of our purpose; It is why we exist.

We want to let everyone know that we are still open for business and able to support your research needs during these challenging times. Many organisations will undoubtedly be concerned about their customers or users, but lack the capacity or technology to engage with them effectively. Using our research and surveying capabilities (online, telephone call centre, SMS/text) may be a stop gap to help you in the short term. With large swathes of the country going into self-isolation for some time, there will be a huge impact on all communities and organisations. This will affect many of your residents. The elderly and vulnerable may feel isolated and without essential daily necessities. Employed and self-employed tenants and leaseholders may be short of money to pay rent, charges and other bills. M·E·L Research can help you find out information immediately and continually, about how your residents are thinking and feeling.

We can use our resources to help inform people – such as direct them to your website or helpline; to share news about grants or benefit changes or to find out if people have particular worries, like paying the bills, dealing with anxiety or wider issues. This can help you strategically, for example by shifting resources or directing frontline services to those most vulnerable and in need of help around wider services like tenancy sustainability and mental health support.

To ensure we keep our own staff safe and follow government guidelines on social distancing, our research team are now working remotely. Although our face to face work is currently on hold in line with MRS Guidelines, we are able to offer alternative solutions to clients, such as online, postal and telephone surveys or a combination of blended solutions. Our telephone interview team are also operating remotely, with existing quality control systems in place to ensure we continue providing a high quality service to clients. We are also able to offer GotoWebinar for larger consultations, where presentations may be required to wider groups of stakeholders.

In terms of qualitative work, we are still able to provide depth interviews by phone/video, online focus groups, Facebook and WhatsApp groups or discussion boards, for example.

If we can help you with any of your research requirements or you want to discuss anything further, please email or call 0121 604 4664 to have a chat.
